UPVC DOOR REPAIR: NO NEED FOR A FULL REPLACEMENT

Many people assume that if the locking mechanism on their UPVC door fails, the entire door needs replacement. In lots of cases however, we can simply replace the lock or mechanism, either with an exact match or a compatible modern alternative if the original part is discontinued.

Multipoint mechanisms can fail for a various number of reasons, but a very common one is the gearbox/drive unit failing. This is the ‘control centre’ of the mechanism and when this fails it often renders the mechanism useless and inoperable. We carry most common gearboxes and sizes in stock to be able to remedy the issue there and then, restoring full function.

Theres also the potential to replace individual parts on a variety of mechanisms – for example you may have a hookbox that fails but the rest of the mechanism is in working order. A lot of the time we can source these parts salvaging the mechanism and saving money on a replacement.

There may be issues more extensive than a failed gearbox which may require a full change of the mechanism as stated previously – usually these can be sourced on a like for like basis. You can also upgrade the security of your Multipoint locking mechanism, some older versions may be outdated and can be upgraded to a mechanism with a variety of hooks, deadbolts and shoot pins to further bolster its strength.
